Does anyone else come accross bad attitudes towards people wanting to explore tyria or cantha?
Ive already got 100% on both tyria and cantha, but im trying for the same with my Necro.
Either you stand in a mission town and post
"LFG to help explore mission area"
or
"LFG to do mission and explore if possible"
and you get no replies.
Or you join a party and ask everyone to please allow you to explore a certain area before the mission ends.
So they all know you want to and start the mission.
Then they dont let you, despite it not putting them out in the slightest.
For instance in THK, you finish the mission and ask nicely to be allowed to explore and ask for help to do it.
And they all just stand at the king saying "hurry up, we dont want to explore", they give about 2 minutes and then someone just ends the mission without saying.
Perhaps its just me and I just get the bad groups.

Yeah, it's sad. If you are going for cartographer you will more or less have to do it with henchies only. No-one ever wants to wait for explorer. It took me about forever to get the last 1% as they were all in areas where most people have no interest in.
THK can be pain with PuG as there is always someone who ends before you explore the whole area. I know I was doing it about 4 or 5 times before I finnaly got it with a guild party.
In missions it's much easier if you are a monk as you can just say to them to stop rushing or they will get no healing.
Then they dont let you, despite it not putting them out in the slightest.
Ah, but you're depriving them of one of the more valuable commodities: time. They're not getting anything from standing around waiting for you; it's your title, not theirs. If you want the title, either learn to put up with henchies or go with people with similar goals.

I done the dragons lair mission with hench
Dragon's Lair doesn't count at all towards the title, though. I've done every other area with henchies or solo.
I finished off my Tyrian cartographer title tonight, and one of the last spots I needed was the northern part of THK. I told my PuG that I wanted to explore there, and they didn't seem to care. I brought plenty of running skills, as well as a bit of self-healing, and explored everything that I needed before the last boss showed up. Worked just fine for me.
Anyway, Glint can be solo'ed so it's not that much of a big deal. The disrespect for explorers is horrible though. I wanted to explore just one little spot of Abaddon's Mouth bonus area (we had just finished bonus so I thought I'd ask), and someone told me to bugger off and get an exploring group. How many people to you see yelling out 'LFG exploring'? Especially in Abaddons Mouth?!?!

The Ring of fire missions are actually easy to explore.
Especially compared to THK and DOD! Those two are a pain in the ass, because you DO need humans to help. They cant be done with just henches....

...not from my experience anyway.
I just henched ThK with my Assassin with virtually no difficulty. I strongly recommend following this bit of advice from the Wiki guide to it:
Taking the bonus of the mission might actually make the mission easier. The bonus Jade Armor and Bows will attack the fort first. If your party stands behind King Jalis in the fort, the Jades will stop on the courtyard, attacking any enemies coming in from the gates. They will easily wipe out all of the Stone Summit as they do not have infused armor. They will also kill some of the attacking Mursaat and White Mantle.
Once the mission has been beaten, you have quite a lot of time to explore the outlying areas as it doesn't finish until you talk to the King.
Dunes of Despair's bonus is henchable, but it requires some precise timing - I did it with Wiki's guide so as to know at exactly which timer values mobs would assault the Hero. Do it a couple of times so you can run around the emptier areas by the bonus, and you should be OK.

I didnt realise that. I might try that out tonight. Cheers!
when my monk was working on his cartographer title I asked the pug for THK if they wouldnt mind while I ran around......not only did they not mind, but we had a conga line going around the edge, it was sooo funny I was crying! we got the bonus, but I only got .1% for the area...........did all the others with henchies including ring of fire.....for the title (not glint, that was another pug)

Congrats on your 100%.. I also had 2 small spots in the back of THK and the bonus to do for the Protector Title. I tried the Pug route and all of us agreed not to talk to King before we all unfogged but of course there was one assclown in the group that ran up and talked to the King before anyone unfogged. I got help from my Guild and we accomplised the Unfogging and Bonus again for someone else. BTW: it only gave me 99.8% found the other .2% in the Jungle (Small Spots Added Up)..
On a Side note I helped someone with Unfoggng the Aurora Glade Mission. I ran Crystals while he unfogged.. He was at 99.9% when finished.. If you ask around for folks going after Unfogging Only then you have the same goals and most times just 2 or 3 is enough the rest is Henchies.. If that don't work get some Guildies..

True.
I have it a lot easier being I'm playing a monk. I had 3 really weird groups in Abaddon's though. I accept the invite, state my intentions of helping them out with whatever they are doing in return with help of exploring the spider part of the mission. No one says a thing and leader loads. I stand still at the docks for 4 minutes watching "OMG HEAL ME!!", "HEAL!" and "I'm dead!" spam until they realize the monk (me) is out of range. It's amazing how deaths get peoples attention. Fourth team was great though, no morons, no monks Dwayna couldn't heal, much less me - and we did bonus, exploring and mission.
I am now stuck on 97.2% and don't know where to continue. Do I really need the old arenas for max exploration? My monk didn't visit any of them... Help.
I managed to hench THK, and I play an elementalist, but I think I got a lucky load or something, or else the mission is super easy... I'm at Abbadons Mouth now, and basically henched everything except for Frost Gate and Sanctum Cay... Ring of Fire took me forever to get through, but I made it through today!
We dont have the fortune of heavy armor and running skills. Exploration is easy for warriors.
And that makes a difference in using henchies? When I had my ele, he was lvl 5 and I had him ran to Droknar's Forge, I hated all the armors there, so i used henchies to get the collector armor, and moved throughout southershiverspeaks as a poor little lvl 5-6 ele with presear armor on,
till I got every peice from each collector, its not that hard to explore using henchies

If your able to avoid agro and sneek around then yes you can explore easily.
And if you have henches then its obviously even easier. I got 100% on both cantha and tyria on my ele using mostly henches.
But if your left to solo as an elemental, then it makes a huge difference.
Which is what happened to me in THK when the entire team just couldnt be bothered to help me explore.
Or when you have to do DOD and only you can traverse over the wall if you take henches and your alone.
Both those instances would be alot easier for a warrior to solo.
